From Melbourne With Love

From Melbourne With Love: Fur and leather hat from St Kilda Markets, Lenko velvet cape, Antipodium black singlet, OKAY! printed scarf, Forever New fingerless leather gloves, Lucette leather biker pants, Wittner boots

THIS IS WHAT I WORE to a day at the office in Melbourne. This photo was taken outside the building I am currently living at. I have been here a week now and the novelty of living so close to the city has yet to ware off. Don’t think it ever will actually. While I travelled down south for the purposes of mo money and less problems, I have had my fair share of fun times. I’ve witnessed my first AFL match, secret bar, hidden op shop (in the casino of all places!) ate a pie at 2 am and despite vowing to not buy anything down here, have practically bought an entire new outfit. It’s very naughty of me I know but it’s oh so cold here. Tights and fur coats can only get a Brissy girl so far in Melbourne life. My first perogative was pants. Who new a girl living in Melbourne would need more than two pairs? Much to my mother’s disgust, this was my sad case. The reason I only have two pairs of pants to my name? Besides the fact that my life motto is ‘life’s to short for pants’ they are also a total bitch to shop for, especially when you are vertically challenged and carrying a fair amount of junk in your trunk. Can I get an amen? Never did I think I would see the day that me and my booty would fit into a pair of leather pants, but nay that day is here. These Lucette pants certainly protect my pins from the winter chills and I also feel if the opportunity ever arose, I wouldn’t look too bad on a motor bike too. Emergency motor bike rides happen you know. And when they do, oh I’ll be ready. We all know how I feel about velvet so I need not explain the reason’s behind this Lenko velvet cape purchase. The other day I wore it while eating pumpkin soup at an alley way cafe. The duck egg blue of the cape along with the creamy yellow of the soup – never has my food choice complemented my clothes so much. It was a beautiful Melbourne moment. And if the food and the fashion wasn’t enough, this is the view from my apartment. The long building down the bottom is the convention centre and DFO (cheap undies wooo!) During the day you can see the ocean and St Kilda. Dear Melbourne, I really like you. Let’s go steady for awhile and see where this affair leads us.  Hopefully to more velvet and maybe even bell bottom trousers. Go on, surprise me. Love Peny Lane.
